Please take note that this printing of The Trail of Blood DOES NOT CONTAIN THE CHART. I found the chart in an older version luckily and was able to use it for my church group. The book refers to the chart throughout, yet there is no chart to be found in this printing.
really good history book of the churches. If you like to start the research on real Christians in history this book will get you started. The Christians that where killed not because they believed in God but repeated what God said. They Teach disciples what God said and paid the ultimate price. Now you can google it, youtube it, etc. on each group of Christians.
Baptists have always been outcasts to man made religion. We believe the Bible and only the Bible. And that, the King James translation. The Bible is our organizational tool. Jesus Christ is center. And the death, burial and resurrection is the saving grace . Not works or baptism. I now know American Baptists were also persecuted. Think things will get better? Not in this world, and the devil's religions.
I was so happy to find this in a Kindle edition because my eyesight has lost its ability to read regular sized print. Here is a history of the church since the book of Acts. I particularly like the presentation of how the New Testament church came to America and has survived. Excellent. Every serious Christian should own this book whether it is in paper and ink, or as mine is, on my Kindle.
No issue with the seller, but purchased this to understand the authors reasoning. Just not an accurate church history.
At this point I will skip comments on the lack of primary sources, speculation on events, conflation of disparate religious groups, poor exegesis of the local church, and falsity of lumping John the Baptist's baptism with that of the church. These are major problems that have been addressed by entire books. So, while sounding scholarly, the uniformed reader is led astray with a fairy-tale version of church history.My big complaint is that THERE IS NO CHART! How can this book NOT include the Trail of Blood chart? This is beyond belief. The book refers to the chart multiple times, yet it has not been included. The chart was a major part of the teaching of the Trail of Blood. DO NOT BUY THIS VERSION.
I learned many things about the Christian religion that I had never heard before, not just the Baptist faith. A good quick read for everyone interested in learning more about the oldest established christian church.
The Trail of Blood is a great reference that will help Evangelical Christians understand Church history and the corruption of the Roman church which has gone on for over two thousand years.
