The description doesnt leave much of a definition of how big this book actually is, this book is has alot of pages, its worth the money over and over again!!!
Even though this is a more recent version of DP, it's a great jumping on point for readers new to the character as well as longtime fans. The book has a perfect mix of everything Deadpool: violence, pop culture references, and a great sense of humor. I can't wait to have the whole collection of this series on my shelf!
Deadpool by Daniel Way Volume 1 is an impressively sized book for the cost. The stories contained and the interpretation of the character portrayed is in my opinion inferior to what Gary Duggan and Brian Pohsen have currently been doing. To be fair this is the first volume and Way very well may hit his stride further into the series. Steve Dillons art in the Wolverine Origins issues was for some reason offputting to me but the moments it produced between two all time great characters were amazing. Once we get into the regular series with Paco Medina as regular penciller it elevates the stories so much more. The Thunderbolts issues also suffer from sub par artwork but the story is more than good enough to save it. The remaining issues with Wade battling Bullseye are probably the best as a whole. Overall it is an action packed easy read that is well worth the low price.
This collection comes with Deadpool 1-12 Thunderbolts 130-131 and Wolverine: Origins 21-25. I enjoy the Daniel Way run of Deadpool. The art in this book is mostly good. The stories are hit or miss, particularly the Wolverine: Origins which I found a bit stupid although the Wolverine and Deadpool fight was wonderful.
High quality. Love the style of everything. And Deadpool is hilarious. This is my first time reading a marvel comic, and I only did so because the new movie was hands down the best movie I've ever seen. I won't lie, I do find it a little hard to follow sometimes, be it because I'm stupid or because it jumps around so much. But regardless, I haven't laughed this much reading something in a while. I would recommend it. Not to mention I got it so quickly! Two days is unheard of in the real world, lol
I imagine I am one of thousands of people who have started buying Deadpool comics (that's Mr. Pool to you. . . ) after having watched the movie. I won't give away anything in the way of spoilers, but just a great read. Something to tide you over until a new movie comes out, haha.
Funnier than I expected. First graphic novel I’ve read in years and I recommend that if you’re a Deadpool fan, you need to add this to your collection.
Very funny and action packed. I really like this comic and this is a good intro to the character. There's quite a lot of material here so you can get to know Deadpool. Also the book is high quality and the pictures are fantastic. This book made me want to read more Deadpool.
